Today’s motto: “Happiness, true happiness, is an inner quality. It is a state of mind. If your mind is at peace, you are happy. If your mind is at peace, but you have nothing else, you can be happy. If you have everything the world can give – pleasure, possessions, power – but lack peace of mind, you can never be happy.”

“Happiness can not be recognized on the face of someone, because it is a continuous process, a struggle spread with frequent moments of physical, emotional, social and financial impotence.” I read this phrase somewhere and I realized that indeed, happiness is a continuous process. What is happiness for you, how would you describe it? For a long time I thought happiness was the money, I thought if I had money, I would be a happy person, ohhh silly me. You need more than money to be happy, you need friends, to be ok with yourself, you need values, your family, etc. Yes, money can help you have a balanced life, but they aren’t happiness, they are one of the thousands ways that leads to happiness, because you don’t enjoy more than two weeks your new bag, pair of slippers, much dreamed trip or a bicycle, right? Or maybe it’s just me, I’m one of those people that needs less material things for happiness to last. The shortcomings of childhood and adolescence create a completely erroneous impression of where and how you find happiness. The first step towards authentic happiness is to know yourself, then to know what you want from life. There are so many rich people who commit suicide, but also poor people do that, don’t they? Then maybe money aren’t  the common factor but something else, right?   I think  that the two main factors of happiness are the way of accepting or seeing the world and the people we surround by choice, excluding the family that we are given.
Happiness is not depending 100% on us, happiness depends on circumstances, decisions, people, and many other internal and external factors. When we understand that we can’t always be just happy, when we understand that the people around us are influencing us and also like us in our less good days, then, we can be a bit happier than the usual. My happiness comes from the happiness I manage to bring to others. Clearly, it’s not the best way to get happiness, and that for a thousand reasons, but that’s the way I am. 🙂 We wear masks, sometimes when we are alone too, this is why, many of us forgot their true value and they truly believe that happiness consists of Nike clothes, Mercedes cars, fake nails, successful selfies, etc, saddest thing of them all is that, they do not give a chance to genuine happiness, because they are afraid of failure.
