Tradiția cu călătoritul în Martie, a început când l-am întâlnit pe Cosmin. Era ziua lui și eram în pană de idei, știam doar ca el nu a prea călătorit și uite așa a luat nastere tradiția ca în fiecare an darul de ziua lui de naștere să fie un city break. Câteva zile când suntem doar noi doi, rătăcind străzile unui oraș frumos. Anul acesta am decis că trebuie să descoperim Belgia, știam că vrea să vadă Veneția și el a presupus că vom merge acolo, dar m-am gândit că o surpriză reală ar fi dacă mergem undeva unde nu s-ar gândi. Am rezervat un apartament pentru 4 nopți prin Airbnb, este ieftin și ușor de găsit un apartament frumos la preț rezonabil. Vremea a fost încăpățânată și capricioasă, demonstrându-ne că Martie nu este cel mai bun moment pentru a vizita partea de vest a Europei (anul trecut, la Milano, am avut o vreme bună). Când am ajuns la Bruxelles în prima zi vremea a fost ok -ish, cu puțin vânt, dar destul de bine. Tot în prima zi am gustat bucătăria belgiană, am avut o masă destul de scumpa în centrul orașului .. Mega scump dacă ești vegetarian, pentru că mănânci cartofi prăjiți și niște brânză (alte legume nu erau, și doar cartofii nu mi-ar fi ținut de foame) și plătești 25 de euro :)) Tot pentru 25e Cosmin a avut niște alimente belgiene în porții destul de mici care nu și-au meritat banii, oricum, am învățat lecția pe pielea noastră, nu mâncați în centrul orașului în primul restaurant pe care îl vedeți. 🙂
Din punctul meu de vedere, lucrurile pe care ar trebui să le încercați sau să le vedeți în mod gratuit sau la un cost redus în Bruxelles sunt următoarele: Grand Place, unde ne mâncăm și am avut o priveliște încântătoare, clădiri uimitoare, înalte, puternice cu o arhitectură care vă lasă fără suflare. Muzeul de ciocolata, este mic și drăguț, să nu aveți așteptări mari, este compus din 3 camere ca de apartament și o demonstrație despre “cum sunt făcute pralinele belgiene”, ceea ce era frumos, agh și degustare. 🙂 Apoi, există și Muzeu berii, cu degustare de bere la final, din nou nu prea multe de văzut, dar totși interesant și din moment ce sunteți acolo ar trebui să-l vizitați. După aceea, puteți vizita cele 3 statui / fântâni, Manneken Pis (băiețelul), Jeanneke Pis (fetița) și Zinneke Pis (câinele). Atomium este un apel bun, din păcate datorită ploii, nu l-am văzut, am preferat să rămânem la Delirium pentru a bea bere și a ne face un prieteni, recomandăm acest loc, are peste 1500 sortimente de bere, un loc confortabil cu vedere la Jeanneke Pis. Dacă vă aflați la Bruxelles, beți o cafea la Little Cup, un loc drăguț pentru a vă începe ziua. Dacă doriți să gustați ceva unic și gătit în fața dvs. de o doamnă frumoasă, mergeți la Le P’tea Lunch, am găsit acest loc uimitor în timp ce căutați un loc unde de unde am putea să luăm o cafea la pachet. De asemenea, vizitați Catedrala Sf. Mihail și Sf. Gudula și mergeți înăuntru, se merită! Nu sunt o persoană religioasă, dar e destul de plăcut să te bucuri de tăcerea de acolo. În timp ce rătăciți pe străzi, dați o șansă și Palais Royal -ului. Acestea sunt câteva dintre lucrurile pe care le-am vizitat aici, dar pun pariu că sunt atât de multe alte lucruri de făcut, totul depinde de cât de mulți bani ai de cheltuit.
Apoi ne-am dus la Bruges, înainte de a cumpăra biletele, du-te la centrul de informații și dacă ai sub 26 de ani, vei avea o reducere de 10e pe bilet. Când am vâzut prima dată Bruges-ul am fost fascinată, a trecut ceva timp de când un oraș m-a făcut să mă uit ca nebuna în jurul meu. Deci, într-adevăr a fost dragoste la prima vedere. Aici aveți câteva lucruri de vizitat, depinde de interesele dvs. Ne-a super plăcut să ne plimbăm pe străzi și să vedem doar câteva dintre atracțiile locului, din păcate am stat aici doar o zi. Așa că am vizitat: Beguinage, unde tăcerea este un must, un loc minunat de vizitat, asemenea este și Church of Our Lady, Burg square, St. Salvator’s Cathedral. În Bruges trebui neapărat să mănânci câteva delicii de la Aux Merveilleux. Ca sugestie de mâncare, vă recomandăm cartofi prajiti, vafele și ciocolată, acestea 3 m-au înebunit de cap, de asemenea, ar trebui să bei cât mai multă bere belgiană, este un “must”. De aici, sunteți pe cont propriu. Nu m-am dus la toate locurile turistice, pentru că îmi place să rătăcesc pe străzi, să întâlnesc oameni, să admir clădirile și să descopăr “comorile” pe cont propriu.
Today’s motto: “When you walk into a chocolate store, suddenly the most difficult decision you will ever have to make in your life, is which chocolates to pick! It is pure torture! Especially when you are in Belgium surrounded by Belgian chocolates!”
This started when I first met Cosmin, this traveling tradition. So every year, the gift for his birthday is a city break, a few days when it’s just the two of us, wandering the streets of a beautiful city. This year I decided that we have to discover Belgium, I knew that he wants to see Venice, and he assumed that we will go there, but I thought that a real surprise would be if we go somewhere he would not think about. I booked a flat for 4 nights through Airbnb, it’s cheap and easy to find a good deal here. The weather was stubborn and whimsical, demonstrating us that March is not the best time to visit the West part of Europe (last year in Milan, we has a wonderfull weather).
When we first got to Brussels the weather was windy but quite ok. So in the fist day we tasted the Belgian cuisine, we had an expensive meal in the downtown..Not worthed if you’re vegetarian, because I ate delicious french fries and some cheese for 25 euros:)) and Cosmin some Belgian food that wasn’t worth the money, anyways, we learned our lesson, don’t eat in the downtown in the first restaurant you see. 🙂
From my point of view, the things you should try or see for free or low cost in Brussels, are the following: Grand-Place, where we ate, lovely view, amazing buildings, tall, strong and architecture that leaves you breathless, Chocolate museum, a small one, cute, but don’t have high expectation, there are 3 (flat) rooms, and a “how Belgian pralines are made” demonstration, which was nice. 🙂 Then, there is the Beer museum, with beer tasting at the end, again not too much to see, but interesting and since you are there you should visit it. Afterwards, you can visits the 3 pissing statues/fountains Manneken Pis (the little boy), Jeanneke Pis (the little girl) and Zinneke Pis (the dog). Atomium it’s a good call, unfortunately because of the rain, we hadn’t seen it, we preferred to stay at Delirium to drink beer and make friends, I highly recommend this place, it has over 1500 beer types, cozy place with view to Jeanneke Pis. If you find yourself in Brussels, drink a coffee at Little cup, it’s a cute place to start your day with. If you want to taste something unique and cooked in front of you by a nice lady, than go to Le P’tea Lunch, we found this amazing place while looking for a place where we could grab a to go coffee. Also visit the St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral and go inside, it’s worth it! I’m not a religious person, but it’s quite nice to enjoy the silence there. While wandering the streets, give a chance to Palais Royal. These are some of the things we visited here, but I bet there are so many other things to do, it’s about how much money you have to spend.
Then we went to Brugge, before buying the tickets just go to the info center, and if you are under 26 years, you’ll have a discount of 10e per ticket. When I first saw Brugge I was mesmerized, it’s been quite some time since any city made me stare like a lunatic at it. So, indeed it was love at first sight. Here, you have quite some things to visit, it depends on your interests. We loved to wonder the streets and to see only some of the attractions since we stayed only one day here. So we visited: Beguinage, where silence is required, lovely place to visit, Church of Our Lady, Burg square, St. Salvator’s Cathedral and you should eat some delights from Aux Merveilleux. Food wise, I recommend the french fries, the waffles and chocolate, these 3 made me crazzzzzzzzzzzy and also you should drink more than one Belgian beer, it’s a must. From here, you are on your own. I didn’t went to all touristic places, because I love to wander the streets, meet people, admire buildings and to find treasures on my own.
